Meet Helen - lobster obsessed.
Helen's been part of Team Doris for 14 months now, joining with heaps of fashion and retail experience. Temping initially in dispatch, Helen has since progressed. She now manages sales, social media and creative projects and we couldn't be more proud of her. When Katie (our founder) offered Helen her permanent role, she had a little cry* at home.
Every office day is different. This week Helen's busy planning for our next photoshoot showcasing the new autumn/winter collection. And it's involved. From researching to mood boarding. Sourcing to coordinating talent - cue models, make-up artists, photographers, clothing, and finding the right locations. A project that ends with Helen on art direction to ensure the shots are captured and the images are on-brand. This is Helen ON FIRE - in her absolute element. She has a vision and eye for detail we all envy.
The atmosphere at work is special, Helen shares. "I love being surrounded by, and working with, a team of multi-talented women. My stomach often aches from laughing by the time I get home".
A My Doris piece Helen's been wearing all summer long is this hot pink headband - a silky statement worthy of a shout-out.
Work highlights include charity events - Helen loves hosting sample sales and raising money for the local hospice. "Supporting the local community feels right and I love introducing new people to our brand".
Helen is already counting down to Christmas at Doris HQ. After last year’s restrictions, she's ready to go alllll out. "Our winter collection - coming soon - is such a favourite of mine. Consisting of oversized pieces, beautifully beaded work, sparkle and shooting stars"! Only 108 days to go.
Out of work, you can find Helen binging Ru Paul's reality drag race / walking her dog (the love of her life) / smashing an entire jar of pickled eggs / and freeing lobsters from local fishmongers.
